GIRARD-PERREGAUX Gyromatic High Frequency Swiss Automatic
Girard-Perregaux, a timeless tradition of innovation.
Girard-Perregaux is best known for constant innovation, exceedingly high design standards, and superior precision engineering.
This gorgeous, vintage Girard-Perregaux High Frequency Gyromatic bumper automatic wristwatch is no exception when it comes to the hallmarks of Girard-Perregaux. From the 1970s, it is in excellent condition! It has a lovely champagne dial with slender, yellow gold stick indices, luminous sword-style hands and sweep second. The dial has luminous dots above each hour index and features a date window at the 3 o'clock position. It is signed with the GP initials in yellow gold, and Girard-Perregaux, Gyromatic, High Frequency in black. The dial is cased in a very eye-catching, brushed 10 K yellow gold filled cushion case/bezel and polished case back. The original crown is signed with the GP initials.
Boasting cutting-edge engineering, this Girard-Perregaux features a high frequency gyromatic movement with roller-equipped unidirectional clutches, which results in a simple, reliable and efficient construction. The Gyromatic is the first high-frequency mechanical movement, with a balance making 36,000 vibrations per hour.
This Girard-Perregaux wristwatch is finished with a very attractive vintage mesh bracelet signed “Kestenmade” in 10K yellow gold fill and stainless steel. The fold-over clasp features a very elegant basketweave pattern that glistens as the light reflects off of it.
This is a very attractive timepiece that complements business and formal attire, or can be used to dress up a more casual look. When not being enjoyed on one's wrist, display it in a protective display case.

Vintage watches are traditionally smaller than today's watches. Men’s watches typically measure between 29-36mm wide (some larger, some smaller) excluding the crown. In the listing details we typically try to do our best to list all pertinent dimensions of a watch. If you don't see it, or we failed to do so, please reach out to us. Women’s watches from the 1900s-1970s were also much smaller than today's offerings. Please also feel free to ask any questions you have pertaining to size.
We prefer to shoot photographs outside when weather is permitting. However, when we shoot indoors, please be aware that we shoot our photographs inside of lightboxes that are lit with 360 LED bulbs. This indeed magnifies any flaws. Usually, they are much less obvious to the naked eye. Having said that, we never photoshop any of our photography, remove blemishes, etc. We adjust lighting when necessary, but what you see is what you are getting, and we take pride in that.
The condition is pre-owned.
The item may have some signs of cosmetic wear but is fully operational and functions as intended. Please review the photos and feel free to ask any questions you may have. It will be carefully packed.
